Optomap Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging
OPÉA Optometrists is equipped with the Optomap Daytona, a safe and advanced tool that maps a 200-degree view of the back of your eye (retina) in just a few seconds. This tool allows for more than 80% of your retina to be captured in one panoramic image. Many eye diseases can be screened via careful evaluation of the retina. For example, bleeding of the blood vessels in the retina can be a sign of diabetic retinopathy.
Octopus 900 Visual Field
Evaluating peripheral and central fields of vision can provide valuable information on one’s eyes. The Octopus 900 provides up to date techniques to assess and screen for certain eye conditions that can sometimes be asymptomatic.
Goldmann Tonometer
Intra-ocular pressure is measured reliably with this tool and without a puff of air. Elevated pressure can be a risk factor for glaucoma.
Nidek Autorefractor-Keratometer
This 2-in-1 tool measures the curvature of the central cornea and also gives an automatic estimate of the patient’s prescription. It is often very useful in assessing young children’s vision.
iPac Pachymeter
The thickness of the central cornea is calculated in only a few seconds using this instrument. Corneal thickness represents an important risk factor for glaucoma.
Lipiflow
Using a combination of heat and massage, the revolutionary LipiFlow® treatment removes blockages from the meibomian glands, allowing natural oils to resume production, treating meibomian gland dysfunction. This 12-minute treatment is conveniently performed right in the clinic.
